One man's trash is another man's treasure

A few weeks ago I saw someone had dumped a piece of sturdy vinyl flooring next to the garbage station of an appartement building at the end of our street. A piece of flooring of only 1.5 x 2 meter. Half of it , is perfect to use as flooring in the playhouse coop I have.
That's a good find! I love being able to repurpose old materials.

When I was a student people could put household stuff that was broke or old on the street once every month.
We roamed the streets sometimes and I found beautiful old lamps, chairs, a bird cage and a lot more.

Good old times. Now everyone has to bring it to the waste station or make an appointment to pick it up.

Good thing, there is a container at the waste station for repurpose goods. It goes to a volunteer club that sells it on as second hand stuff. The collected money goes to special projects abroad for health and education.

It's a shame how much stuff is thrown out nowadays, even when it's still perfectly usable. The volunteer club has a great idea though!

My Dog! He was someone's Covid puppy. When lockdown ended, he was sent to the pound - the POUND! He was a super sweet, perfectly healthy not-quite-two-year old. As hard as it was for him to get bounced, I'm so grateful that we found each other. He is absolutely The Bestest Boi!

They have a repurpose goods thing here, but the sheer amount of electronics that might have some life left in them going to waste that I've seen at the dump makes me sad.

It's so sad that people treat their animals like that. He's adorable and looks like the goodest boy!

He IS! I will admit that, even though they were mean enough to turn him in, they treated him well while they had him. He has excellent manners, reliable "recall" and was in really good condition. I'm thrilled to have him. I LOVE my boy!
