My broody duck was off her nest this morning so I went to check on her and she limped away from me, so I knew something was wrong. I picked her up and brought her over to my sister so she could inspect it...and she had a open fracture in her middle toe. So my sister washed it off, sprayed it with vetricyn, put gauze on it, and wrapped it up with vet wrap. Then we put her in a section of our wooden rabbit hutch with electrolyte water in a deep bowl and some standard duck food. (We put her in the rabbit hutch so she couldn't get her foot infected in the mud and also so she couldn't get in the dirty water.)

@Miss Lydia hasn’t been around for several months since the NC floods. We all hope that she is doing alright. I don’t know much about ducks, but compound fractures can easily get infected. Antibiotics such as cefalexin or clindamycin are used to prevent bone infection.

Thanks for the reply where can I find those antibiotics and how do I administer them
