My red star is also very friendly. You could always post an add on your local craigslist that you would like to trade chicks. Thats what I did, I ordered 25 buff orps and then traded for most of the birds in my sig line.

I thought 'Order Remorse' was going to be about ordering while it's still quite cold out. Some folks have reported very sad losses

I have 2 light brown leghorns their alright they are a bit flighty but lay everyday.

I didn't read every post but my thought is, you'll get tons of eggs but chances of you wanting more of a variety of the many, many breeds that are out there and that are also good layers is very good. Go with what you want you still have time to change the order.

Orpingtons are good layers and sweet as can be.

If a Red Star is the same as a Production Red, then you should be fine. My PR is a lap chicken.
