How awesome that he means so much to you! I've honestly heard almost nothing but good about Orpington roosters. They actually have a pretty good reputation. My boy is really sweet, too, and for example, I can always wrap my arms (with some difficulty

) around his huge lavender body for a bear hug before the birds' bedtime.

Hi all Orpington Lovers, I am new to BYC and trying to figure out why my 4 orpington girls are not giving me cuddles or sitting on my lap or even letting me stroke them. I hand feed them and when they see me with food they come running but they just seem so of me. Am I unlucky that they're just not into me or cuddles or is it because they're still young?

When I first got my Levi, for free, he was stand-offish. With patience and time spent with all my flock, he developed a deep affection for me. Just keep living them and you should experience all the cuddles as well.
