Thanks to everyone for all the help. I never knew having chickens could be so much fun. Their personalities are a crack up. W did loose a couple of silkies to one of the dogs but we keep her under pretty close eye now so no more problems to date. Very sad.
Ranchhand asked what our user name meant. We live smack in the middle of the city but we wanted to come up with a ranch name despite that since sometimes it feels like we're on a small farm with all the animals. We have a light Brahma(Gertrude), a Barred Rock(Betty), two silkies (Sunny and Mayvis) and a Cochin (Mammy). Barreds and Tards Ranch came up because we have a Barred Rock and the silkies and Cochin....well, if you've ever owned one you can figure out the rest. Tacky I know but that's who we are.
