One of my hobbies is making logos so I am working on a logo for our poultry farm. Just for use on our coming website, business cards and maybe a sign out front. This is my first rough idea, but I am looking for some feedback on what you guys/gals think. Suggestions would be great as well! I made a couple logos of a sunnyside up egg that kind of looks like a sun but I could not get it to look right

My professional opinion....
A third compliment color would be a good addition to have and would have more impact...
Keep in mind you may not always have the opportunity to put it on a white background
Square is a good shape, but when shrunk down to say 60pixels tall like in a banner.. your text will be small and your graphics big...
A rectangle would assure that you will always have a good size to your text portion.

Love the idea, love the sun burst (have that in my logo too see my avatar).

Good job!

Also.. if you can make it vector based, so that you can shrink or stretch it to fit on anything without distorting it later on.. labels, cards, posters, signs etc.

It's nice, but I look at it and see "almost" and can see just what I would do. Let's see if I can describe it adequately.

I would keep the same rounded corner square shape. I would bend the path of the text along graphic's curved corners (this would make the text wider than the actual graphic) so that each letter appears to be part of a ray from the sun. See, you almost have that already, but without following the curves, your letters appear to be floating above and not part of the logo.

I don't know if you have software that can alter the paths of the lettering, but that's what I'd try, if it were me. On the bottom lettering, I'd do the same sort of thing: follow the path of the bottom curve of the graphic.

I might also stretch the top lettering vertically and see how that looks. Maybe italicize or skew the letters to the right a little too, in order to work them into the flow of those sun rays.

Thanks for all the input!

I forgot to check this thread so sorry it took me a while to respond.

The logo is done in Illustrator so it's 100% vector based. I actually did a full color version as well but I am trying to keep it simple for printing/signage purposes.

I love your logo DawnSuiter and I promise I wasn't trying to copy it or anything lol. I will try some different contrasting colors to see if I can get it to pop a little more... Looking at it a second time it looks a little washed out to me. If I was going to use this in a banner or even website header, I would likely put the name next to the logo rather than top and bottom.

I will try to play around with the text as well and see if maybe I can intergrate it into the logo a little better. I do see what you mean about that neferset.
