Since my go to antibiotic, Duramycin 10, is no longer sold in stores I need to know what I can now use for an antibiotic, and where to get it. No injectables, unless it can be given orally. I need an antibiotic for a duck with an advanced case of bumblefoot.

Have you used amoxicillin before? I know they sell it around here. It’s in capsule form and is the same used on humans and animals. It’s at our feed store by the fish tank cleaning supplies. You’d have to figure out the dosage though.

@azhenhouse is there a vet you can get help from? You may be able to find something in the fish department of a pet store.

There are some alternatives. I am not a vet, cannot offer more than general ideas. Silver sulfadiazene (sp?) cream is great, topically. Oregano has antimicrobial properties and is used by a number of chicken farms.
