Hello

Yesterday I had a few chickens present with a respiratory infections, I proceeded to give them antibiotics, fosbac and doxymac along with stress pac

After about an hour I started to loose alot of chickens to heart attacks, 40 chickens since yesterday 12pm

Whould an overdose explain the high number of heart attacks?

Thanks Justin

Are you sure they've died from heart attacks rather than liver a kidney failure?
Were these antibiotics prescribed by a vet?

No vet was involved, 90% all died on their back.
While I'm sorry for the loss of your birds, the lesson is do not administer drugs such as antibiotics without the advice of a vet.
Given the circumstances it would seem probable that the administered drugs are responsible for the death of your chickens. The way to be certain is to have a necropsy done.

Sorry for your loss. Where are you located? Did you mix the medication as the label instructions said? Why were you using 2 different antibiotic products? Have you had any avian infuenza or Newcastles Disease cases in your country? Another possible cause could be mould in food or a poisonous chemical they found. Not knowing how you are raising your chickens, it is hard to guess what happened. If a veterinarian is available to do a necropsy on a few bodies whould be helpful.

I am based in Johannesburg South Africa.
I mixed as per instruction
Now upon further investigation it seems if I used 2 types of antibiotics, before I did not know the doxymax was a antibiotics, my mistake

I will have to take it to a vet, I have stopped medication to see if anything improves

Here is a picture of my coop, let me know if you see and problems

Wow that’s a lot of birds in what appears to be a small space. Is this a temporary situation before they go outside? Overcrowding can compound problems with sickness and diseases
There is a door to the right which we leave open during the day, this was taken at night

I did try increase the number of birds this batch, and could be overcrowding.
