I have a 3-week old Red Star chick and about a week ago I noticed she was holding her head towards the right side and walking akwardly. I thought maybe an injury from the other chicks but on closer inspection, on the lateral left side of her neck there is a darker pink/red area and it feels firm although she is difficult to palpate because she won't hold still. She is still eating/drinking/pooping and she seems bright and active although she hides a bit more than the others. The way she holds her neck and moves I would guess maybe wry neck but that spot is definitely red and doesn't feel like her crop to me plus it's very lateral. She eats commercial chick feed and gets chick boost in her water so I wouldn't think a deficiency. Any advice you can give would be so greatly appreciated.
