I have a barred rock that has extremely pale comb and waddles. I guess they’re more ashy red than pale. We’ve even started calling her “ashy Larry” ( those of you that have watched Dave Chapelle show know what I’m talking about). She has been working hard at growing out her new feathers. I’m assuming her comb and waddles are Pale are due to that. Of anyone can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Can you please post photos of her?

She's molting? Most hens combs turn pale during molt since they go out of lay, but it's worth seeing what you are talking about.

Pretty girl!

She's molting. Once she's done molting and comes back into lay, she'll start to redden up.
