Pale Skin on Silkie mix

I’ve hatched quite a few chicks from the same roo to different females, but this is the first time that I’ve gotten a pink-skinned silkie EE over Silkie EE. I’ve had some that do not have an extra toe but this one doesn’t have one in addition to light skin. Thought I’d share! I have no idea what this means but it’s doing well. The siblings are hatching with a few others looking to have pink skin and a couple others with dark skin.

For a pure silkie, they have five toes, black skin, and feathers are either smooth (satin) silkie (fluffy) or frizzle. Anytime you mix breed them, they no longer are a true silkie but who cares if you just want the mix.

Yes, they were mixes to begin with. This is the first time I’ve seen them with pink skin. The mama only has four toes and most of the chicks have 5 like the rooster. They are cute regardless! It looks like they are feathering Silked. I guess we’ll see!
