I Noticed yesterday that my white turkey's head, the back part started becoming a plae white and pink color. And today, the rest of his head is that color. Anyone know what may cause this? Is this a sign of blackhead?

TIA!!

When a turkey gets a pale face all of a sudden it is typically a sign of submissiveness. He may be submitting to a larger bird in the flock, or he may not feel well for some reason, due to injury or sickness. A picture would be helpful. Have you had any other problems with your turkeys lately or in the past?

I've noticed my turkey, Grace, seems to blush when she is eating.

The turkey is a giant white and I have no idea if it is a male or female. It is our only turkey (our other turkey decided to drown itself in the stock tank). This is an image I pull off of google, but that is what the turkeys head is doing. I am wondering if it is changing it with its mood. I watched it go from a dark bright read, to the pale pink/white color. But, in the picture, this is what the head of the turkey looks like.

If you can see the colors changing quickly, it is a mood issue.

Red = excited

White = dejected

Blue = somewhere in the middle
