Panting chickens

Ok, to start off, I've read plenty of posts on here about what to do, ie electrolytes, ice blocks and cubes, shade, etc. My problem, for whatever reason is that the chicks have a part of my screened in porch as their coop, with access to a partially shaded run to go in. The screened porch was 96 in there today, but the chicks panting wouldn't go to the run.

I put a gallon of frozen water out for them, but they didn't seem to want it. If it gets too hot in here, will they eventually go outside?

I am assuming that they normally go into the run? I think I would chase them out there once, and then just leave it open up to what they want to do.

Mine never would do anything with the ice either. Mine have liked damped soil. Shade and water and a breeze. Panting is removing heat from them, mine have panted and been fine.

The crazy thing is that they go out after the older ones come in. They older ones are 14 weeks, and the others are 10 weeks. I also have some 8 week olds in the coop as well.

There's some chasing, but that's about it. They've been next to each other since I got them.

I know this may seem premature, but in the coop it works, the younger ones just won't go out.

The older ones probably evict them from the coop.

Do these 3 age groups stay apart from one another?
Are they all sharing the same run?

The younger ones stay together for the most part. Last night, they were all on the roosts together though. Sometimes they do go to the run together, but they don't stay out for very long.
Yes, they do have the same run. It does have some hiding spaces in there too.

You'll have to observe to see if the olders are keeping them 'trapped' in the coop or not.
I've seen it happen here.

This is a work in progress. I still don't have the aerial netting up yet. I do have things for more " privacy '. But not installed yet , due to no netting.Not to mention wood was a whole lot cheaper 2 years ago
