Paralyzed cockerel, can’t figure it out!

mareks was definitely at the front of my mind. But he is completely normal other than the lameness - great appetite, active, droppings are fine, etc. it has been about 3 weeks, and my other 140 members of the flock have shown no odd symptoms or any out of the ordinary. So I’m really hoping…

I have had some very mild frostbite in a small bantam rooster who lost several toe tips, and he still could walk around. Usually, most say the toes will fall off in about a month give or take. There are a lot of threads with progression pictures.

Thank you so much for your help! He lost two toe tips on one foot, and I think will lose another tip on the other foot this week. It seems to be healing well, and he definitely is moving his toes and foot more since losing the tips. Maybe it isn’t as painful anymore.

But the joint where the leg meets the body just feel so stiff! It can’t fully straighten out, and he just keeps his legs very close to his body most of the time. Why might he be doing this? Could it be possible he broke his legs, and it healed wrongly? Or what else would cause the stiff joint?

Thank you so much for the help. I really wanna get this boy back on his feet (quite literally!).

This is about how far his legs can extend
