I’d just be careful with it through winter. Atlanta doesn’t get too cold I know but worth keeping an eye on itIt did not die off, but turns grey frequently so must have less blood flow.
She looks like she knows exactly what she did lol

Correct, frostbite could be an issue (not here!) after this for sure.I’d just be careful with it through winter. Atlanta doesn’t get too cold I know but worth keeping an eye on it

Are BO hens just.. mentally challenged? My girl is a BO as well, just much youngerCorrect, frostbite could be an issue (not here!) after this for sure.
At least now I can tell the 2 BO apart
She did this 3 years ago BTW.
Awesome! Great job!Sorry for not updating! I cut the hanging bit off with no issues and basically no blood, just a drop. After it dried, I liverally added plain Neosporin and put her back with her flock. No pecking! I think everyone is too distracted by all the little sprouts coming out after the rain we had!

I wish I would've known thatYep…
I opted to cut it off since it was already dying, the comb bit was already black when I saw her. Only a drop of blood when I cut it off. Out Neopsorin on it and now shr is back with her flock! My rooster did that a few weeks ago. He used to have a straight comb but ripped it from the bottom towards the top of the comb. I thought for sure it was going to turn black and fall off. I had taped it in hopes that it would grow together again. But no, he had taken the tape off and the comb was hanging to the side again.
I just noticed that it seemed to have grown together again on it's own and the comb is pretty much straight again. I am totally amazed by that.
All I did is clean it... put some triple antibiotic ointment on it... and let him roam.
