We ordered Gold Deathlayer chickens from Pasturefarms in Georgia last year and recently received our order. They do not ship chickens and have a good selection of rare breeds. This is a private run farm and we had to pick up the chickens at the meeting point provided on their website. This was not an issue for us.
They will breed the chickens based on the orders they received. Our order included 6+ week old chicks and they gave us an extra chicken. We communicated with them through email and you can tell them if you want your chicks vaccinated or not or if you look for other traits. They will try to meet your request.
Very friendly contact and all went well. If you are looking for a rare breed they have and don't mind waiting and picking up, they should be on your list to purchase from. The price per chicken is also reasonable. We had a nearly 4 hour drive to pick up and we don't regret to do so. The chickens settled in well in their new home. Great contact and they answered any questions we had.
