Hello from Georgia. I've been told this is the place to go for questions. I have two teal blue-green (supposedly rare) quiet peacocks, actually peacock and peahen I've had for seven months. During Monday's evening feed the peahen got out and flew the coop. The following day she was spotted 50ft above her pen and the peacock. We put food outside the gate. She came down to eat around 5pm then flew back in tree. The next day she came down and walked around and ate and just checked everything out for an hour then left and came back around 5pm to eat again. She walked into the second pen being done, we calmly approached she looked up and was up and gone in 2 flaps of her wings. She came back and did the same thing next day but stayed for less time. The peacock squared and cried first two days now he stays quiet but pacing the pen. Today is day 5 she hasn' come in at all. Any ideas on how to get her to come back so we can capture her? We put cover over 2nd pen in case she comes back but she seems to be more independent and go further away.

:welcome

Sorry for your awol peahen. The only experience I have with them is when a neighbor used to have a peacock that liked to perch in our trees...I never did figure out how to keep him away and onto his own property (and the owners weren't concerned at all).

Hope your girl finds her way home soon!

Thank you to all my responders. YIPEE !!! My peahen is home. My husband finished the roof on the second pen, we put the peacock in it. The peahen came in late afternoon walked right in her old pen to eat. She loves corn on the cob forgot where she was and my husband got to the gate and closed it
