Our Tractor Supply recently started stocking small bags of Purina duck pellets and our adult ducks love them. The packaging states that they can be fed to ducklings but we have always fed crumbles in the past.

Should I crush them up, wet them down or will they be ok eating the pellets as is?
It also says it has niacin 60ppm, is this enough or should extra niacin still be added to their feed for the little ones?
Thanks in advance :)

I would wet the pellets down and then it into a mash atleast until they are a little older.

For now they only sell the 5lb bags at our store so we just put a dish out for the adults in the afternoon to snack on. They won't touch their regular feed until the duck pellets are totally gone. It does seem to make much less of a mess than their crumbles.
Lol, yes not practical for a large flock. We just have the three ducks and hopefully 2 new ducklings will be hatching soon :)

If you get to the point where you need a 50 pound bag, ask TSC if they can order one for you.

No thank's! - I found a local feed-mill here, they are using as much locally harvested stuff to make their pellets and if they really have to buy from a non-local source they are only buying non GMO and pesticide free stuff.
The duckies love their pellets and when i fill up their feeder they're all waiting for me to come back out of the duck-house and then storm in to fill their bellies.
Of course Blanca Duck is first…
