People keep dumping unwanted roos at local park, overcrowding is an issue, is it a good idea to rescue some (and treat them for potential diseases)

It's really sad there's abandoned ducks geese and chickens at the local park, they've swelled in numbers just this year, id say at least 30 roosters, 1 or 2 hens, and another 30/40 ducks geese in a small enclosure. and of course they're breeding too (and it's very sad seeing sick/Injured ducklings or chicks past the fence and you cant do anything) council says people dump them there and if I can catch any and give them to a good home I'm more than welcome to, I can do with a rooster or two, do you think it's a good idea? Because overcrowding is a serious issue and the rare female keeps getting overbred and harassed and the babies hardly ever survive cos of being pecked and jostled (there's a sick duckling I took a pic of today) it's just really sad.

Some roos are purebred too, and if I do catch them I'll quarantine them

Maybe call your local TV news and suggest they run an expose or investigation on this? It's animal cruelty and the city authorities are complicit by allowing it to happen. Where, oh where, is the Animal Control Officer? Or Parks and Recreation Dept.? Is this in America?

Lissner Park, Charters Towers, Australia....it's just a hick country town, council does feed them but does nothing to stop people dumping them (apparently there is a pound you can surrender roos to here, and they can be rehomed. But most people just dump them at this park)

I would rescue as many as possible, especially the hens. That's pretty much torture for them being in there with all that overcrowding. Are they fed ever? I would think they'd starve to death pretty quick with just dirt to eat...

Could you possibly catch the roosters and give them to the pound where they'll at least be cared for?

Lissner Park, Charters Towers, qld, Australia. I actually had more photos that didn't load. The last one has a duckling that is appearing weak and lethargic. Have seen lethargic chicks, rotten eggs, dead birds lying on the ground quite regularly. It's Soo depressing but locals actually find it to be an attraction, taking kids and feeding them bread like it's a zoo or attraction. I don't know how to feel about it because to some extent the adult birds appear healthy enough, no visible lice or mites, some chickens can actually fly out of the enclosure, but I'm not sure what the councils intention with this place is beyond keeping it as a shitty 'sanctuary', there are doors that are padlocked and I'm sure workers can enter and exit. There is a pond in the shape of a donut that surrounds the place with a working pump.

They are fed (I never see them being fed but assume they are as there's empty feed trays) but I bring my own seed mix I feed my own chickens to feed them everyday, it has added nutrients. I have ordered a net off of temu (I know, but I have to start somewhere) to hopefully catch as many that leave the enclosure as I can.
I feel SOOO sorry for the lone hens, surprisingly they don't have bare backs, I think they must have learnt to be super assertive to fend off the males, or they paired with the most protective roos. They are almost never outside the enclosure and I'm not sure how to get inside cos the tops of the fence is topped with barbed and electric wires
I don't know if there is a limit to how many I can take to the pound, I will call and ask

I wonder if you could just get permission to go in there and remove the hens, and maybe the babies or any sick/hurt ones. If just the roosters are left in there with no hens to fight over, they should be pretty content. The ducks and geese probably stay pretty much to themselves.
