We have 5 PET (hand raised) ducks and that live in a ~1000 sq ft preditor proof enclosure. At this point we have 3 drakes and 2 hens, not the best ratio. I am thinking about adding 2-3 girls to the our tiny flock of pet duckies. Any thoughts?
1 Pekin drake, 1 Cayuga drake, 1 Welsh Harlequin drake, 1 Pekin hen, and 1 Cayuga hen.

I like the pekin ducks. I feel they are hardy, trouble free and seem to get along well with either sex. I would say you need about 4 more females, particularly as spring is on the way!

adoption OR duckilings
We hand raised our duckling for a partial imprint, because our ducks are primarily pets although we love duck eggs too. Although we have had no eggs for months now :-(

Plenty of places to get ducklings but where & how to find local "pet" ducks to adopt

How to integrate them in to to the flock as peacefully as possible? Are ducklings easier than adoptions or are adoptions more easily added to a "flock"
