There is some great FAO manuals out there. They are normally written for third work countries and farmers that have limited resources so the kerosene lamps fit the target.

They are great beginner tools

I am not familiar with them. But, the picture of the brooder with a kerosene lamp for heat sure brought back some good memories from my childhood.

Good Morning Everybody,

It's been a slow few days on the thread. Surely there are some things happening with the Philippine flocks. Even if you don't have any news to post drop in and say hello and let all know that every thing is going good for you.

Spread the word about BYC. We need to catch up with Mark (Oz)

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

On this day in 1946, the United States recognized the independence of the Philippines. This was the culmination of a process that began in 1916, when the Jones Law pledged the eventual recognition of Philippine independence, and that continued with the Tydings-McDuffie Act of 1934, which provided for a ten-year transitional period to prepare for independence.

The independence of the Philippines was marked by Manuel Roxas retaking his oath as President of the Philippines, eliminating the pledge of allegiance to the United States On this day, the Republic of the Philippines—independent, and recognized by the family of nations—was founded

Happy independence day everyone...

All is going well aside from my smelly backyard! Lol it's been raining here for the past few days and my backyard is always wet. i have to clean at least 3 times a day to make sure that poops go to the drainage.

My girls are still very productive and I am very pleased. I collect 2-3 eggs a day. Our fridge has 2 dozens of eggs as of this writing so i am planning to make some leche flans for my birthday on Monday.

Meanwhile, my last batch of chooks have grown. They are now 16 weeks old. Some are much bigger than the others. The BOs and the JG are the biggest. My rir pullet is a bit small. I think she is not getting enough food because she is the lowest in the pecking order. Hence, not getting enough nutrients (that's at least my conclusion).

Mighty Chip is separated from the flock because he sometimes try to mate the young pullets and i think they are not yet ready.

Here in CdO it is being celebrated with banners and signs proclaiming Philippine and American friendship day.
