Aww great names!! They’re really fitting somehow. What kind of ducks are they?

We had a giant Dachshund we used to call Mr. Pickles as he was pickle shaped.

Mr Pickles and Pistachio were hatched out last Spring by one of my chicken hens. Their father was a fawn & white runner duck who was killed protecting his flock from a fox. Their mothers came to me after most of their flock was killed, and they were the only two left. Mr. Pickles’ mother is my lovely Cayuga hen Olive, and Pistachio’s mother is my lovely Khaki Campbell hen, Acorn. When I realized they were both laying fertile eggs, I put some under my broody!

Never entered but got this pic of my crazy Speckled Sussex girl. I'll call it Fall Gardening with Comet. Or Everywhere All At Once because that's her in a nutshell!

The ducks are filling up on some scratch grains just before going to bed on a very chilly winter’s night.

Meet Suzy Q. She's a Sapphire Gem that doubles as a hood ornament on the garden tractor. She like to come up and see if I have a treat for her and comes running when she hears me coming her way.
