I am new to owning ducklings and didn’t know what duck/duckling ears looked like.

If you’re a newbie like me - here are what healthy duckling ears look like .

That's just his ear. He's fine. When he gets older, it will be covered by stiff little feathers and you won't even notice it.

I now realize they are the ears. We lost so many of his brothers and sisters to fly strike I am paranoid.

x2. I just did a google image search for duckling ear holes and there's only one actual picture of a duckling ear. Yours is better.
