Plastic leg band?

I just received a 10-12 week old silkie. She has a plastic leg band. Do I need to take it off? If so, how would I do it? It’s pretty loose, so not hurting her.

You don't have to take it off right away, but she will grow quickly so definitely remove it before it gets tight. I do it with small scissors if there's enough room to fit one half of the scissors between the leg and the band.

Use cuticle scissors. But get it off any way you can. Right now. Chicks grow so fast that before you're aware of it the band can strangle the blood flow and chicks have lost their legs.

It actually had a buckle type thing, I got it off without scissors!
