So BYCers.... what do you think? do-able? Have any of you done this? Does it work well? With the right kind of ventalation and all?

THANK YOU GUYS!!!!! BYC rocks!!

It is very doable. Looks like you did a nice job.
Is the back end open to the run? Will that be a problem with rain or wintertime?
I did the same kind of thing only with a larger rubbermaid shed. You can see my BYC page for pictures.

Um, where's the ventilation?

It's going to be pitch dark in there, too, without windows of any kind. I would imagine you'd have a hard time getting the chickens to go in there at night, since birds usually hate going inside completely dark enclosures.

inventive!!! i would probably pop a hole here or there, for venting. Looks like a nice size for just 3 small chickens. I would not get anymore than that tho.

I did the same this with the buckets for nesting boxes, but I cut a hole in the wall and popped them through so I didnt lose any space on the inside. You can use the expanding foam to fill in any gaps

Okay well first off thank you guys for all your suggestions, second i didnt build the coop in the pics above, i found it in the internet

third, there would half to be a number of things id have to change due to my extremely diverse climate, and my birds needs. All my birds will/have a heat/light sorce in thier coop. Also the run will be sturdier and covered, becuase i happen to know the cyotes in my area like chicken for dinner:/. I think if i do this right, it might work! Oh and i wouldnt have any more than about 4 birds in there. Maybe a roo too. What else should i know before i go and do this?

Thank you!!!
