Please Help! Baby is hatching and I'm freaking out!

It can take any where from 4-24 hours for him to hatch. It'll seem like it's taking forever. lol

Sponges work better than water dishes. I've lost a chick to the water dish before. They get in them and drown. If you don't have sponges clean wet socks or wash rags work well too.

I don't know the humidity. I just put a dish of water in and put a second dish in yesterday just in case. I have to go to work now but I'll check on him as soon as I get home.

Well while I was at work my husband decided that he should move the incubator because the cats could hear the chick chirping. I sure hope it's going to be okay. The temp dropped to 90 and I'm trying to get it back up.

Hatching babies are very resilient to temperature changes, as they can regulate some of their own temperature. Babies themselves need only be kept at 90-95F, so the egg will be fine.

Warm wishes for a good hatch...

Hello, so far the little guy is doing okay. He was completely hatch out at about 3:30am. I set up the brooder and am going to move him in so I can turn my eggs that aren't due til Friday. I sure hope someone else hatches out so he'll have a little friend. Thanks again for all the support. I'll post a picture as soon as I can.
