There's no frostbite, just some scabs from picking.

Not frostbite. If it gets well below freezing for extended periods of time, that's when you worry about frostbite. Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline on his comb and wattles will help prevent that.

It would be common for peck wounds or scrapes to feel crusty. I’m pretty sure that it will heal in a few weeks. It can turn from black to brown to white before healing.

its been getting down to like 16-15F at night he does not tuck his head into his wings but since were pretty sure its peckin wounds how do you prevent that
