I'm thrilled to share my ducks with you. I have 14 young black runner ducks, 8 of them hens. They started laying on New Years day and we are getting 4 to 5 dozen eggs a week. My husband Craig has business in town today and I've sent 4 dozen eggs with him to share with family members. My daughter said an enthusiastic View attachment 4045263View attachment 4045262yes to "golden eggs".
Beautiful Ducks!!!! I have lots of hens but am only getting one egg a day from one of my Muscovy. It's really cold here still though so I think they are holding out for spring. Where are you located? I am in Ohio.

Thanks for praising my babies! I have always admired Musvovys. We are on the SW Washington coast and it is a rather cold winter for us near the ocean, high 20s for overnight lows, weeks on end. The lights go off at about 9 PM each night in our poultry house and that might be the factor that is helping egg production. Beginners luck most likely.

Yes I have no lights or heat for any of mine so they are probably just waiting for spring. You are most welcome for the praises. I love ducks. My great Nephew lives out there in Bremerton. I have heard that it is a beautiful state.

Hi.

of course, just for you, another Salix photo, he really gets darker over time

Salix is really beautiful... (I love him!)

Hosta, my blue dusky girl

She is cute - would like to have one like her in my flock!

A little bit of Tilia, lavender, with her beautiful brown spots

Okay... so, Splash/Lavender can carry Brown... huh : I really have to look carefully at my Splash Runner hen, because if she carries Brown, it woud explain a lot...

What colours are Tilia's eyes?

Sam, blue trout

three boys, one gene difference
left to right Sam, blue trout (Blbl); Olaf, mallard or trout (definitely NOT brown, he´s the one from my previous post, i wasn´t sure about the color) and salix again, apricot trout (BLBL)

Oh my God... Sam looks great, but I am so in love with Salix...!
(This picture is great, seriously!)

AAAND, my newest addition (220km drive back and forth)
say hello to "Mokka"
definitly brown
and given the non existent white collar, very light purple-copper-ish wing speculum and (with sunshine) blue-copper-ish head maaaaybe brown DUSKY:eek:
at the moment he´s just a little skittish

Yeah... Mokka is totally Brown (Dark) Dusky - meaning : Khaki.

My 2 Khaki Campbell are exactly the same colours than your boy.

Here is my youngest KC - at the center of the picture :

Colour is the same, right?
Khaki...!

On an Indian Runner, Khaki looks especially good - in my opinion!

Wow... thank you for the picture : your ducks are really beautiful!

Just a question : do your Runner hens lay black eggs at the start of the (laying) season?
If so, do every one of them do, or just a (specific) percentage?

Thank you for the pictures. The last one is particularly nice to look at (these pumpkins...!!) - we can even tell you take really good care of your exterior. (Good work!)

Your Indian Runners are very, very cute. Your Blue drake is really shiny - not like mine, ah, ah!

Hi! I was scrolling through old posts, slightly to glean new information, but also trying to figure out what our Rouen ducklings genders are! Praise The Lord, our babies are about 5 weeks old now, and happy as can be! but I’m just not sure what gender they are.
Would you mind telling me which ones in this picture are boys/girls? I’ll try to compare it to our babies. We’ve never had rouens before!!

All of them are males.
