Please help me I've lost 4 bird's in the span of 5days and 4 more are in critical condition, at this rate I'm worried I'd lose my entire flock in less than 2 weeks, I have a flock of a rooster, 5 hens, 1 cockerel, 3 juvenile cockerel and their 4 sister's
it all started few days ago my dad brought home a rooster for stew he was going about his day normally, eating, crowing and attempting to mount my hens, after being put in his place by my rooster I had to separate him to my surprise found him dead the next day, I thought he probably eat something and didn't think much until I found my main rooster the same way 2 days later then the day after my cockerel and a hen started acting out not eating, drinking nor moving as usual

so I isolated and gave antibiotics that same day to return and find the hen dead where they where covered in liquid green and white droppings the cockerel is at the bridge of death convulsing with his eyeballs pertriudeing out with red swollen legs

now another hen and a juvenile is in the same condition with swollen leg and face looking like it has blisters on the inside also pooing green and white

the juvenile just passed away while another 2 came down with the same condition

please what could it be I'm about to head to the store to get med for them and need advice

The stew chicken that started it all

I'm so sorry this is happening, but it's a good reminder why you should always quarantine before adding new birds to your flock. If it is something like newcastles disease I don't think there is any way to save your remaining birds. Sending the deceased birds in for a necropsy will tell you for sure what you are dealing with and if there are any treatments options. Again, very sorry for your losses. :hugs

I am so sorry this is happening. Once your birds get sick and start dying it is far too late to isolate the sick ones. They are already contaminated. Many diseases are airborne. If you must bring a strange chicken home, the only safe thing is to keep it as far away as possible from your own flock and even that is not enough. You must wear separate clothes and shoes when you take care of that chicken, and either wear gloves which you throw away afterward, or wash your hands thoroughly, before handling your own chickens or their equipment (feeders, waterers, etc.). One hopes you did not eat that sick chicken.
@Eggcessive, how long does Newcastle remain in the soil?

Ohh no I didn't
Where I'm from it's against our culture to eat animals that weren't slaughtered thus we don't eat meat outside
