I am trying to fill out show papers for my daughter and didn't realize that they would have separate classes for standard and bantams (our first poultry show). She has 2 polish hens that she will be showing and both of them are 3 pounds or a little less. The only info I can find is that standard polish hens are about 4 1/2 pounds.

I'm leaning toward bantams, but in my head the birds are bigger than most bantams I would think of (like silkies or japanese), but smaller than standards that I know.

Any help out there?? They're such a different shape than my regular layers, I just can't be sure.

Thanks!!

I would say that they were Standard size..

Standard Weight Cockerel 5lbs Pullet 4lbs Rooster 6lbs Hen 4.5lbs

Bantams Weight Cockerel 26oz. Pullet 24oz. Rooster 30oz. Hen 26oz...

Oh! Thank you so much for the information!! I've been surfing the web, but haven't had tons of luck on bantam weights and such.

Your information has been very helpful.

I thought my daughter would just enjoying having the birds to work with, but she has been enjoying them so much more than I expected. We sort of have a mixed bunch and if she decides she really enjoys showing, we may have to get a little more serious about the breeds we have and how well they fit the breed standards.

Thanks again!!
