I'm looking into buying some Pomeranian geese and maybe some rouen ducks and aylesbury ducks. I have a lot of experience raising waterfowl, especially ducks. I want to know if this is a good idea or not. I want to buy them as goslings and ducklings and raise them out to breed and sell hatching eggs or live birds. They are all from quality genetics (single lobed, pink billed and feet Pomeranians, large deep keeled rouens and aylesburys). Just want to know if I can make a profit by raising and breeding these birds or if I might loose might butt on it. I want to preserve these rare birds but also don't want to loose money. If I can sell some, I can spread these birds around to raise population numbers and make some money at it. If you could just let me know if there is a high demand or not for these breeds and prices maybe- thinking $50-&75 on the show Pomeranians and $25 on ducks. Not sure on eggs and probably don't want to sell day olds either. Any help would be much appreciated!

Any help would be great. livestockconservancy.org estimates that there are fewer that 1,000 aylesbury ducks, fewer than 5,000 pomeranian geese, and fewer than 10,000 rouen ducks worldwide. I would like to do my part in preserving these breeds. I am currently at college for animal science and would expect to be hatching eggs by the summer of 2019.

Did you do it ? How’s it going? Do you sell Pomeranian eggs ?
