Well tonight I sat this poop on one of the pavers about 5 minutes after the 9 girls went in for the night…. Anyone have ideas on causes or if it’s a concern. None of them are showing any issues except on if the girls quit laying about 2 weeks ago but her energy level is and and acting normal otherwise

If it's a one time poop, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Monitor poops over the course of the next week and observe your hens for any signs of decline, isolating themselves, lethargy, etc.

This girl has been laying soft shell eggs now for two weeks, she’s eating and acting normal she has access to oyster shell, sometimes she lays it in the nesting box sometimes on the coop floor and sometimes in the middle of the night from the roost…. Any ideas on what I should do to try to get her laying normal? She’s a 10 month old Red Sex Link

What are you feeding? Do you place crushed oyster shell in a separate container from feed to supply extra calcium? I would give her a human calcium tablet with vitamin D daily for the next 5-7 days, to see if her egg shells become normal.

Im feeding kalmbach 17% layer pellets with mannapro oyster shell in a separate dish.. ill try the calcium tablets, I’m guessing I will have to break them up and hand feed to her?

So I gave her a tablet of calcium carbonate with vitamin D yesterday, overnight she laid this in the coop, it’s like the normal softshell she’s been laying but also with this other bit that looks strange…. My thought is she had that stuck in her and so she was producing soft shells in order to pass them? Does this sound reasonable or something anyone has seen before?

The one with a tail, can you cut it open?

I'd continue to give her the Extra Calcium for 5-7days to see if it helps firm up the shells.
