we have decided to get more chicks from our local mom and pop farm supply store after we had an issue with a fox last year that took all but one of our hens. we picked up 6 few day old chicks and 5 are doing great. the 6th and smallest one not so much.

im pretty sure it is blind or very close to it. he rarely opens its eyes and has a very hard time finding us or the other chicks. if someone or the other chicks arnt touching him hes constantly chirping. he had gotten very lethargic yesterday until i noticed this one was different. when sleeping which it does way more than the others, he looks dead most of the time. laying on its side or back mostly. i have started yesterday afternoon to feed egg yolk and after eating he starts to want to walk around but no judge of obstacles so frequently falls over things and has bad balance.

while syringe feeding there is alot of air pecking and not much intrest in crumble unless we basically hand feed. were not to sure if this little one will make it but just curious if theres anymore to do or if there maybe something im missing? ill get some videos i have up in a few also

If you have Nutridrench give the chick a couple drops twice a day every day until there's improvement. The chick maybe a runt with a vitamin A deficiency, vitamin A helps keep the eyes healthy. Vitamin A Deficiency can also be fatal for a chick, since it can effect other things besides the eyes too.

You could put some Nutridrench in the water too, if you wanted to do it that way instead, but if the others aren't showing signs of deficiency, then I don't think it'll be necessary.

yeah my hopes arnt high for this one, the other 5 are fat and happy. he was walking around my desk and just trips over everything then walked right off the edge. thankfully right into my hand lol. just picked up nutridrench and gave him 2 drops so we will see.

Update us on the little peep?

i just uploaded a couple videos to youtube

this is what it does after eating some yolk

and these are what he does not being in my hand

Definitely malnourished, but the reason why is the issue. If great improvements are happening in the next days, great. Still shouldn't be in any breeding program, but it would be nice to save this little life.

well unfortunately i dont see it making it thorough the night. was doing this pretty good most of the day until i had to leave for about 6 hours. i could barely get him to eat yolk and would only want water. the last hour only got weaker.
