One of my six chickens is acting very strange, slow moving, pale face, tail limp. I thought maybe it was sour crop but her breath smells fine and she seems to eat, at least corn when I bring it out, and she 'talks' too. Then someone said it could be coccidiosis, same symptoms but with diarrhea, watery, poop with blood, I was rulling this out until today when I was watching her and her poop is watery and has a small amount of red stuff, assuming that the red is blood. So, it's probably coccidiosis right?
Where would I get medicine to treat this, will it hurt the rest of the flock if it goes in the water or do I put her by herself somewhere, and will it hurt her if this happens to not be it?? Any info would be great.

Rural King and Tractor Supply both carry Corid, and this medicine will not hurt anybody in your flock, so you don't have to separate her from the others; this could potentially cause her stress anyway. We treated our 5 month old chickens, 7 week old pullets, 5 week old chicks, and 3 month old ducks all at the same time, with good results. Nobody was affected negatively. We mixed up the solution with 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid per gallon of water, and we treated them for five days, although you can give it to them for up to a week if needed. You should mix up fresh Corid water once every day, discarding the old. Once the treatment is over, we followed up with probiotic-electrolyte solution for three days; the brand we use is called Rooster Booster Vitamins & Electrolytes with Lacto Bacillus. Hope this helps! Good luck with your girl.

Thanks for the info, we got a thing called Sulfadimethoxine from our local feed store for this and gave it last night. Have been out Haying all day so haven't been to see how they are yet but I'll keep you posted

Not sure, I've been gone and just went out and didn't check their poo. They're already up for the night but I'll check tomorrow..why?
Also I think another chicken is getting sick, she's acting the same as the first. I hope this medicine works

The yellow or sulfur color poop normal is liver which was what I Noticed in my Tom before he passed form blackhead I used metronidazole to treat my birds (also Oxytetracycline HCI should be available at your Feedstore and that can help with upper respiratory or other illnesses however when treating blackhead I had to get the metronidazole. Prescribed from a vet the oxtertracycine did not help at all with the blackhead and I also used panacur dewormer to kill the Cecil worm that causes blackhead disease I hope you can save her, if you do lose her you can take her to the state lab and have a necropsy done relatively cheap

I think it was cocci because it's been a few days since we started the medicine on them and today they're all acting so much better I don't wanna jinx it but I think they're gonna be okay. Thanks all for the help, i would have been lost without it :)

So the medicine I got said to use for six days and those six days are up, it's been about two since I've stopped using the medicine and one chicken (not one of the originally sick) is startling to act like the others have when they were sick. Is it possible that she wasn't sick before but is now? Do I use the medicine for another six days??

Oh, the only other difference is she keeps shaking her head. But every thing else is the same (pale face, lowered tail, inactive, away from others)
