Hi there! My pet Cornish Cross house rooster has been having steady diarrhea for a week and a half and I'm quite concerned. I've been adding apple cider vinegar to his water, and he's been eating his food mixed with chili pepper flakes and oregano but it hasn't seemed to help. Today when I was cleaning up after him I noticed what could be worms in his poop? I'd love some advice on what to do next!

A bit more info: He is approximately 8-9 months old, hasn't been sluggish, he still has a healthy appetite (Though that could be part of being a meat chicken breed), his comb hasn't paled, his feathers have been looking a bit raggedy but he has also been molting!

What's his normal diet? Is he free fed?
Stop the herbs, spices and acv, it won't help.
How's his crop?
We were told by the vet when we first got him (1 month old) to have him on a low protein food so he's currently been eating 16% layer pellets. He also eats lettuce, and gets Hentastic peck and mix herb surprise and assorted berries for a treat.
His crop seems fine! Not hard at all, and no foul smell or anything that's stuck.

Edit: sorry forgot to say, he isn't free fed, he receives about 3-4 tables spoons of pellets 3 times a day, and lettuce throughout the day, treats periodically.

Layer feed isn't good for roosters, (too much calcium, causes issues) can you get gamebird matience?
Any other symptoms?

I'd try to source a Grower or All Flock feed that is 17-18% protein instead of feeding him Layer Pellets.
Layer Pellets is for Actively Laying Pullets and Hens. Since this is a rooster, he does not need all the extra Calcium in the layer feed.

If you are giving the Hentastic daily, make sure it's just a very small amount or try to cut it back to a few times a week.

Is his crop emptying?

I don't think I see worms in the poop, but will tag @dawg53 to get his opinion.

Does he go outside some? He's on ground at times correct?

Keep him hydrated and eating. Do provide Grit (Crushed Granite) for him too.
Do you free feed or keep him on a schedule where he gets small portions throughout the day?

The green poop can be from Bile, could be from some of the herbs too.

Ok! I'll pick up some all flock feed and grit for him tomorrow and cut back on the Hentastic.
Yes his crop is emptying, and thank you for tagging someone to double check for worms!
He's on scheduled feeding (three times a day).
Ok, possibly from the lettuce?

Edit: Yes I accompany him outside sometimes, but he's mainly an indoor chicken!

Could be the lettuce, hard to know.
The poop is watery and a bit chunky, so I'd definitely check the crop to make sure it's emptying and do provide him just a few pieces of Grit (Crushed Granite) every once in a while.

I'd be afraid to leave Grit for him "free choice" all the time since he may eat a lot of it and get impacted. With his genetics, I'm sure he's "hungry" pretty much all the time and well...I'd just worry about him gorging on grit.

Ok I'll keep a very close eye on his crop, and be careful about giving him the grit. Thank you very much for the help!!
