Poultry Cell or Nurti-Drench? Which one do I give and for what?

I have a hen with sour crop that isn't eating yet. I'm treating her and she seems to be perking up a little bit, but I'd really like to give her some extra support. So I grabbed my chicken kit and pulled out the nutri-drench and then the poultry Cell and the rooster booster. At this point I'm scratching my head wondering what's best for this situation. That got me wondering why I have so many options. Then that got me thinking it would be a good idea for me to have a set of guidelines for these. Something I can refer to when I know I need to give something but I'm not sure what. I've had chickens for 3 years now and I have tried to learn as much as I can. I know a lot more now then I ever thought was possible. Raising chickens isn't a throw down some food for the birds kind of thing. They are complicated. From diet to predation and everything in between there's so much you need to know. There's also a lot of misinformation on the web. So if anybody would like to help me compile a list of what to give and when I think it would be a great resource to have. If there's already one on here it didn't come up in my search and I apologize for the repeat thread.
To get us started, which one should I give to my poor girl with sour crop? She needs nutrients to keep up her strength while we battle the yeast that is trying to take over her crop.

So this is actually a good question. I usually always have one or another on hand. I'm going to tell you what I personally know and hopefully others will chime in.

So I know nutridrench is commonly used for moments of shock and stress where you need something fast-acting.

rooster booster is commonly used as a way to get your chicken's intake of vitamins and minerals up. so it's used as a daily thing compared to something used in times of stress like nutridrench.

and poultry cell is used for times of stress and molting, i know a lot of times its used as a treatment for wry neck so its in the category with nutridrench for fast-acting supplements.

so in this case because she is fighting sour crop she should get the nutridrench (preferably) or poultry cell or both

Hopefully that made sense, if not let me know!

Yes, that makes sense. I put rooster booster in their water with ACV so she's always had that. Imnthinking the nutri-drench from a dropper into the beak and the poultry Cell in her water. Sound good to you?

NO supplement should be given more than 10 days in a row.

Rooster Booster is a brand not a product.

When using a quality feed that is NOT diminished by excess treats, no supplementation should be needed.

Please follow through, it's a fantastic ideal!

I'm not sure I would supplement at the same time as treating a crop condition but if I was (in THIS case) I think I would choose the Nutri Drench.. It's fast acting, includes amino acids, and doesn't require digestion to be absorbed.

Hope your gal recovers quickly! :fl

Do you do this constantly with the ACV?

How are you treating the sour crop?
Is it impacted too?
Yes, I have two 5 gallon buckets I use. One is regular and the other has the AVC and rooster booster. They love the AVC water. It always goes faster than the plain water.
I'm using Miconazole 3 day. She went off her feed 3 days ago and I brought her inside. She wasn't showing any signs of a crop problem but my gut said sour crop. I was going tontreat for it but I second guessed myself. So I monitored her and last night I confirmed it when I picked her up and she regurgitated. The smell was there but it's not consistent. I'm hoping I caught it in time. I've not had luck treating this. Of course the other time my hen was older and I believe had pendulum crop. She had been impacted a few times before she went sour. On a more positive note, Josie is on her third dose and she has started eating again. Scrambled eggs!!! I'm very happy about that. She's the most amazing hen. She comes into the house and talks to me, has a nap, a poop and then talks to me some more until I cuddle with her. I'm praying I get it right this time.

I didn't feel any impaction. When this started her crop was pretty much empty except for a tiny bit of something, probably grit.

This is what I've been using.

yes, that sounds perfect. You may want to stop the ACV for a bit and give her only the rooster booster in the water. Is there any other way you can feed her probiotics? like pills, kefir, or yogurt?

She hasn't been getting the ACV. Just plain water and then the Poultry Cell water. I always offer plain water as well when I put something in the water. She took the Nurti-Drench no problem. I was surprised. I have save a chick probiotic. Should she be getting that now? I was going to give it to her after the monistat.
