Hi,

So the past week or several days or so I have found bites on my body which I am positive are poultry mites from my chickens. Dealt with mites before last year summer and got rid of em with permethrin powder but now they are back. The permethrin works but it is a hassle to apply to the chickens just for many reasons. Like I can only dust my chickens in the dead of night because in day they’ll run away and I have to wear gloves because I’m putting that powder all over.

So anyways I’m in desperate need for a one and done treatment, I’ve heard of elector psp but that’s out of the price range. Something easy where I don’t have to be touching every part of the chicken.

Thank you 🙏!!

You really need to go out at night and confirm whether they have mites or ?

You have another thread, so you've got replies there::::

When my chickens had mites I always washed with Jason Lavender or Tea Tree body wash. I think this helped limit their biting of me, but wasn't completely foolproof. I did this for YEARS. Layers of DE in the coop finally did it for me--all horizontal surfaces, fully sweeping out the hard horizontal surfaces of the coop and reapplying another DE layer at least quarterly. I also dusted the birds. Also, I purchased predator bugs to eat the mites from an insectary. https://www.rinconvitova.com/predator mite.htm Spraying and bathing only helped if I kept them confined in the coop. It usually didn't last because they always brought them back in from the yard where wild birds have access. I even found a dead bat by my coop once. 😖
