Powdery mildew on grapes

Would you believe milk works too? Well...for some it does, others it doesn't lol. Mixing about a 20% milk to 80% water and then spraying has given people some really great results for alot of people. Its worth a try!!!

huh, i didn't know that either.
i used to do a mix like that and pour it in the garden so i could dig up worms the next day for fishing :)

Make sure you irrigate from below. Avoid spraying the foliage.

The spores lay dormant in the soil, just waiting for a chance. My home was a cantaloupe field about sixty years ago. I am still dealing with the problem.

I water from drip, not sprayers.

Hi,
To control powdery mildew on grapes and other fruits and vegetables you can use a spray of 40% milk and 60% water and spay the grapes leaves top and underside and the vines. This works well if you keep the spraying up every 10 days until the season is over. The vines need plenty of air circulation so thin out leaves and branches that are over hanging stopping air from circulation and the sunshine form doing its job.
Hope this helps

There is an OMRI certified organic biological product called "Serenade" that works wonders. I believe it's Bacillus subtillus. PREVENTION IS KEY. I live in wine country and the growers apply at every 3 inches of new growth. Also, some varieties are more prone to fungus than others. Increasing air circulation is a must!
