I have seen a lot of threads with duck pens and some with preformed pond liners. My question is, how do those that have them, drain them to clean them? Did you attach something like a shower or kitchen sink drain to the bottom with a plug or something like pvc fittings with a cap? I need suggestions as I am about to build a huge fenced in area for my 4 pekin ducks. I want a large pond for them and an easy way to drain it to clean it out every couple weeks or so. Any help with descriptions and pictures how you accomplish this would be fantastic. I appreciate your time!

Not sure anything you build will be able to last 2 weeks without draining/cleaning - but if you find a solution, let us know! :fl I have 2 ducks and a 70 gallon stock tank in their day pen. I use a submersible filter/fountain/UV light combination pump and I add muck destroyer. I recently also added carbon to the filter. This keeps the tank clean for about a week - i just top it off daily and skim off the debris from the top. When I completely clean it, which includes draining and cleaning the pump filter, I tilt the fountain head toward the yard and drain as much out as I can. Any leftover debris is cleaned by the filter pump when the tank is refilled. Good luck!!!
