Producer's pride brooding plate

I think I have it.
I need to check the box when I go back out.
What is the question?

the staff told me to get the warranty on it. I usually don't buy that (and I am sure the hoops I would have to jump through would be in no correlation to the worth)

as it is, I liked it, as the use of heat lamps was strongly advised against for various reasons.
It has 2 settings, as brooder plate or coop heater. 4 legs that slide on with 2 or 3 heights.
when the chicks get older they tend to sit on top of it when it gets too warm.

I only used it once, and it was the only thing available in the brick-and-mortar stores. around here.

Anyone have any experience with producer's pride brooder plate?
I had it and used it, it worked well and the price was great.

Unfortunately due to life circumstances.. I let it go with the chicks before I could give you a long term, multi season report.

I do prefer the adjustability of the legs on some other style plates to this one.. but it still worked fine.

Just kinda wanted reviews from BYC members that have used it. I talked my self out of chicks at the store and bought the brooder plate and an incubator instead.

Thank you to those that have replied so far.

I have it and this is my second season using it with chicks. So far they all seem to like it. They are pretty quiet too so I’m guessing the heat element works well. I like the height adjustment. I raise Silkies so they need the lower position. The only other heat source I’ve used is the plate and I think the chicks much prefer this since it’s closer to hiding under a hen. Hope this helps

I bought one in April of 2021. At first it worked great and I loved it. I used it for about 5 weeks in April 2021 and about 4 weeks in August of 2021. When it wasn't being used, it was packed back in the box in a room in our house. The third time I tried to use it in June of 2022, it worked for about 3 hours and then died😒 Make sure you have back up heat on hand just in case.

I will, used heat lamps last year and the coop I brood in is mostly metal and I off set the lamp so they have more space away from it. Also it's off set so it wont fall in the pool with them.
