I have heard that it happens at a lot of forums today. They say if you hold a gold watch or a quartz crystal (doesnt have to be a pure gold watch at all, any gold color will do), near the screen then it will stop. You may need to hold the trinket near it for about 6 minutes or so. Something about a weird solar flare only impacting certain bands of internet or something? Worked for me:

@casportpony just PMd me, she said if the spinning increases in the next couple of minutes there's a slight chance the server might go down.
