Prolapse - possible injury too (GRAPHIC)

Thank you.

I lubricated her anus and she managed to push a fairly big one out. So I think it's the issue that the urates are just dribbling out of her without mixing with the poop and effectively softening/lubricating it. I'm no expert on this but it would appear logical because it is constantly dripping - about one drop every 30 seconds. It never gets anywhere near the anus, just more or less around it.

I've just done the final clean, lubrication and protection (Manuka honey) and her prolapse was still inside as I started. Officially she pushed out as I was cleaning her, but it did go back in. I hope this becomes more regular over the coming days.

Thanks also for the info about the ointment. Never heard of it. I'll see if it's available in the UK.
Manuka honey, so happy to read you are using this! Using Manuka honey, in general, could fill volumes. It's another mainstay in my medicine cabinet. Plus, I use it for myself every day. :D

The vent has stayed in! That's extremely good news. She's also produced some poop herself sitting the night. And, something I'm very pleased about, her crop was empty this morning.

The less good news is that she's still leaking urates at about one drip every 10-15 seconds. The scaly build up is now inside her, predominantly on the anus, which is now pulled more inside. It's hard and horrible. She does bleed occasionally if she strains too hard.

I'm lubricating her which is helping but I watch her squat and push, a poop comes out (like a tube) but she's not got enough push to get out of for whatever reason (hole not as flexible due to the scale buildup perhaps or urates are not lubricating as they are simply running out of her) and you can see it get sucked back in.

One bit of advice I could do with: now she's fitted with the contraceptive, and she's going to be living with all the other hens, am I still okay to give her mash and Leia's pellets? Your alternative is that she has to live separately from everybody else, which seems mad. Currently I am feeding her on porridge with Emeraid and some occasional corn, but I need to move around to something more usual.
