When I woke up this morning my hen was running around prolapsed with an egg stuck inside of her I used some warm water to help her muscles relax and pass the egg. most of the prolapse has gone back in she's no longer bleeding but some of it hasn't and looks really bad. I've never had a chicken get egg bound or prolapsed so I have no clue how to help her out I've got her sitting comfy in my room so the others won't peck at it and make anything worse but I really need advice

I feel I should also add that she seems fine, she's not in pain or uncomfortable and seems to be having the time of her life just laying in my blankets right now and has made bowel movements but there's no progress with the prolapse

Poor girl! It looks really dry to me, i would add some lubricant or Manuka honey. Being so dry won’t help with her getting it back in at all! It does look quite small so it should hopefully work its self out in time but just make sure she stays very clean, doesn’t pick at it/get pecked as this will make it even more inflamed. I’d also carry on with the Epsom salt baths to help reduce any inflammation that’s already present

Vaseline, oil, honey, or hydrocortisone cream are all good to make sure the prolapse does not dry out. It looks a little dry now, and there is some dark parts. It can take days to a week sometimes for the tissue to go back inside. Give her a human calcium tablet with vitamin d or a tums, which can help with muscle contraction. Keep her separated from others with food and water so they don’t peck her prolapse until it goes back in. Try to keep her vent clean. A warm soak once a day may help keep her clean and heal the tissue.

Okay so update. I've been giving her some Epsom salt baths and I gently pushed the prolapse back in after rubbing it with some antibiotic cream but now every time she poops it immediately pops back out and I have to push it back in she doesn't seem to be in pain and doesn't strain when I do it but I don't really enjoy having my finger shoved up chicken ass so is there any way I could help keep it in without it popping back out💀 I'll add some pictures if y'all need em
