I really want to candle her 5 eggs! Will it be okay if I do so tomorrow evening while she's eating?

Of course, I usually just slip my hand under and take out a couple candle and put right back under. or wait till she is out and go in.

Thanks for the answer! I'll try to candle tonight when it's dark so I can see into the eggs while the duck is eating/drinking.

So I just candled all 5 eggs and only 2 seem to be developing, but I guess that's better than none! Also, my 16 eggs in the 'bator are supposed to hatch several days before my broody's eggs, so maybe I can sneak the hatched ducklings under her.

Sounds like a plan when they hatch take all the eggs except the 2 and slip the ducklings in she probably won't mind a bit except she was sitting on 5 and they multiplied to 16 LOL she'll stay put till the other 2 hatch as long as it's only a few days. Keep us updated..

I really hope her 2 eggs hatch, but I also have 4 of her eggs in the 'bator. I sure will keep updating!!!

Franny is still broody I think she has about a week or a week and a half left, but I'm not sure. I tried to pet her the other day and was 'biting' me. She sure is cranky!
