On Tuesday, I mailed 3 mature pullets priority mail. They were to arrive at the post office in Ohio by 6PM Friday.
They got to the Columbus distribution center on Friday 8:45 AM! No updates since. They've been in the distribution center for over 24 hours. I'm worried they won't get to their destination until Monday. It's Sunday tomorrow. I'm not sure I'll ever trust USPS again.

You should NEVER trust USPS. For important structural reasons they are't allowed to address, a substantial part of the delivery process is beyond their control. Don't take it personally. Hoping for the best for you and your future flock.

Next year, order for earlier delivery. National weather events in any part of the country affect air travel (and USPS parcel delivery) in all of the country. All you can do is aim for windows which, historically, have both fewer regionally-significant weather events AND are less environmentally stressful for the birds. Then hope for the best.

Unfortunately, I am stuck shipping in fall because that's when I actually choose which birds to keep and sell. Because of all the hassel it's been this year (people cancel on me, state import laws) I'm thinking of never shipping again though. It's too bad, but if people from other states want my birds they're going to have to drive. Plenty of people seem to want them locally anyway.

Do you think they've got stuck somewhere and forgotten about? It's unconscionable that they would be stuck there for over 24 hours with nothing done.
