Ohhhh, my heart is hurting so badly for you. I can’t imagine what you are going through, not only losing your beloved chickens but also your house and everything you own. Prayers for you during the difficult times ahead of rebuilding your entire lifeSad sad news.
I was in Altadena, CA. And our home was a victim of the Eaton Fires. I lost all my chickens. We could not take them. The fire took them in their sleep I hope. 17 in all. Including Miss Pyncheon. The chaos of that night, 100 mph winds, no power, and we had to leave in 20 minutes. We lost them all.
We went back today to no home, no garage, everything burned to ash. Only one single home remains on our entire block and it is just to the East of us. Which is very good for us, it feels like an oasis.
My heart hurts. I will get chickens back on the land as soon as I can. First we have to get back. The national guard finally left with their machine guns and armored humvees. They blocked us out for almost two weeks.
No one came to stop the firee. No water in the hydrants, 911 never responded. SCE basically burned us down (their tower exploded and started the fire) and the city let us burn.
