Hi,

I need to boil all my quail eggs, because they are too brittle for any other application and I can't avoid pieces of broken shell when I try the trick of cutting with a knife.

I see scissors online made specifically for opening quail eggs, do you have experience with these? Do they actually work as advertized? Will the cheaper ones do the job (5/6 dollars), or is there a a need for a more expensive brand to do the job properly?

Is there any other home trick I can use? Tried all knifes in the kitchen.

Quail scissors work amazing I have a couple cheap pairs and they work as needed.

The scissors work well and are cheap, but I recommend drying them as soon as you wash them. Mine started to rust (superficially, it washed off) after sitting in the drying rack.

We use the cheap ones, I think I got the 6 for $8 pack or something like it. They're definitely only for raw eggs and it takes a little bit of practice not to get egg shards, but it works better than my hands or a knife.

I bought a 12 pack of quail egg scissors on Amazon for $15 and they work fine. As others have said, they're intended for raw eggs. If you're going to be doing a lot of boiled eggs, I also found a quail egg peeler that works fairly well. It takes a bit of prep work, but once that's out of the way, I can peel 100 eggs in less than 10 minutes.
