Quail hatch along! (with my own bodyheat)

Pics
I did the same when hatching the pheasants. The eggs would wiggle to my whistle, and the lot of them still know it and come running to me six months later. ❤️
I had a video live feed up for the hatching and that was everyones favourite bit. The whistle and wiggle. 😁
That's adorable! I'm so exited for these guys I really really hope they make it. Just a week to go!

That’s so sweet!

Lockdown is in 3 days!!! (including today) Gotta say I truly did not expect them to survive to this point much less lockdown and maybe even hatch, but here we are going strong. I was thinking to raise the humidity for lockdown maybe cut a small piece of sponge to get wet and put in there or use a spray bottle with warm water, but both of those would need me to lift it off of my body for a few seconds multiple times a day. Anyone have any ideas??? Or would that work?

This is the "incubator" I've got going on. Just sits skin to skin on my stomach with a belt made of the waitband from an old pair of shorts holding it on. The cushioning stuff is the inside of a stuffed animal.

As far as I've been told a few seconds will not do any harm. The hen would get up to get comfy now and again too... if I were in your position I think I would just sort of fiddle a wet piece of sponge in there now and again and not worry too much.

This is too exciting! Best wishes! 🥰

Day 13 I candled this morning, and the air cell was really defined most of the egg was completely dark except for the air cell and a tiny space maybe ⅕ or ⅙ at the pointy end. Couldn't get a good picture.

I've found some conflicting information out there on what days lockdown starts 14 or 15? What temp and humidity for lockdown some things say 40% while others stay 70% and that's a big difference. And whether they hatch on day 17 or 18. Any experts who know???
