Hello everyone
I have a coturnix quail that hasn’t eaten since yesterday morning, I haven’t seen her drink either. She’s very inactive, but she was way more active two days ago. She’s about 2 years old, so she’s a bit old. Is there anything I can do or should I just say goodbye?

First, separate her from the others. It's possible that she's just at the end of her life, but it's also possible that she's caught something.

Give her an exam to see if there is anything obviously wrong. Do her eyes look clear? Are her feet in good condition? Any lumps that shouldn't be there? What does her poop look like?

You can try giving her some boiled, crushed egg yolk to temp her appetite and maybe some Nutri-Drench in her water.

One of her toes is bigger, it looks like it has a lump, it’s been that way for some weeks or maybe months now. I’ve noticed that my old birds tend to have “swollen” toes (they aren’t really swollen though, they’re hard)
Her eyes are clear, her poop is mostly water and urates.

Can you post a picture of her toes? It might be an infection. Quail pus is usually solid, so it would feel hard.

The poop sounds normal for a bird that hasn't been eating, but again, pictures would help.

Of course, here’s a picture.

The toenails need trimming, but her feet don't look bad from the top. How does the bottom look?

The poop looks like she's been eating something, at least.

I do trim her nails from time to time, but it’s been a while since the last time 😅
Unfortunately I’m not home anymore…I can’t take any more pictures, but my mom will keep an eye on the bird. I saw her drink before I left, I was very happy. I also put some vitamins in her water.

I don't see anything to be concerned as far as her feet go! That much urates is a concern....I don't know if that piece of meal worm was in her feces or not but if it was, then she has been eating a little bit!

Does she appear to be 'fluffed up'? How do her eyes appear? Any mucus or runny nose, sneezing, etc?

Unfortunately it wasn’t in her feces, I tried to offer her some mealworms, she seemed interested but didn’t eat any.
She’s a bit fluffed up but not too much. Her eyes are clear as usual, no runny nose, sneezing or mucus. I don’t see anything unusual.

How long can they go without food? She hasn’t eaten for 3 days now and I’m blaming myself for not feeding her with a syringe while I was still home…
