Quail not laying!

Button quail don't start laying as early as coturnix. 10-12 weeks is more normal before you start seeing eggs. They will need 14-16 hours of light per day as well.

Purina isn't great, it isn't awful, but if you change feeds, you will notice that their poop doesn't smell as bad. In another month you're going to want to change them over to an adult feed anyways, so it will be a good time to transition to something else.

What would you consider adult food?

Lol one of the reasons we drove an hour and a half across the border to New York was to buy that 30% Purina game bird crumble at TSC..

The only high protein feed I can find in Canada is 36% Hi-Pro poultry feed which is currently out of stock. https://www.peaveymart.com/feed/poultry/feed/hi-pro-36-multi-purpose-poultry-supplement-20/1002176. I can get it shipped to the store so I'll probably get that when this bag is done. Everything else is 21% protein or less. The button quail trio I got on Friday were being fed bird seed with 10% protein. The hens were laying eggs. I'll give them that around 10% as their snack.
